I've also been working on Beyond Electric Dreams. Seriously I'm on fire O.O''' I started plotting yesterday, scene by scene in my notebook. I'm now on scene 25 and things seem to be flowing quite well. I have three main view point characters, each with their own plotline, so its just kind of cutting back an forth between them. The plot lines are connected though. Lyndz is reading the plan every now and again as I go along and she says the pacing is good. :) *happy*
I very much like my characters, although they haven't really come to life yet, and won't until I start writing properly. However they're already arguing with me and making demands on the plot, which is a good sign. ^^
Oh also I have a new idea for a story which was provided by an offhand comment of Matt's. lol. It's really taking off, I know loads about the main female character (Megan). She's extremely talkative. XD lol. I know less about the main male character (Li) not because he doesn't talk, but because he doesn't speak English. Lmao.
I bet any non-writers (and even some of the writers) reading this think I'm crazy for the whole talking characters bit. lol.
Oh the naming issue has finally be resolved. Kyle has been renamed James after my Granda, since the main female character from WotD (Mollie) was named after my Nanny. Punk guy is called Corey, and has developed a huge amount of personality, he's also randomly half asian lol, which he just decided to tell me. The third view point character is named Robyn Hart, yes a girl! yay! lol. ^^
I should probably mention that I've decided Rain of Gold is going to be my NaNo novel this year, so that's why its taken the back burner. It'll be nice to have the frame of the original story to work from, though I'm going to bend it into something that's my own. :)
Not much else happening really... so I shall mosey along and continue with my plotting. Hee hee ^^

I'm over halfway through Blood, Glass, and Sugar and adoring it. Love the characters, especially Auran (wait, had you already guessed that one?) . I do like editing other peoples work. I enjoy editing very much but editing my own work can be depressing. I never seem to know how to fix my own work. But hopefully Lyndz and Mum will catch the biggest problems in WotD for me. No pressure. :P
Umm what else? Well Sport's Day is approaching, AHHHH!!! Someday I will rename this to 'Headache Day'. It's the most evil, crazy day of the year and I'm watching the clock tick down with incredible amounts of dread. I'd dearly love to go on strike, but I'm needed so I won't. lol.
New Projects (yes, I finished one so I'm adding two more. lmao.)
Rain of Gold YA Mythological Fantasy?
My retelling of the myth of Perseus. I'm very excited about this one, obviously its pretty easy to plot since I already have the bones there to work from. Of course I am doing my best to remaster it into something original, while still following the vague thread of the original story. Planning wise, hmm.. I've planned the prologue and the first chapter (though im not too sure about it) and I know pretty much were I'm going with the next chunk of story. ^_^
Beyond Electric Dreams YA Urban Fantasy
I do not want to be thinking about this story right now, but it won't leave me alone. >_< So I shall give a brief summery. Beyond Electric Dreams is about a punk band of the same name, and vampires. You heard me. >.> Two of the main characters are background characters that have very very small parts in Lyndsay's Blood, Glass and Sugar. They are as follows...
“Evie, where have you been?” He asked, glaring at the drunken boys as they weaved past.
“Sir.” One of them nodded, tipping an imaginary hat and attempting a casual smile. They stopped a few yards up and that same boy heaved loudly into a trashcan.
*point up* this is Kyle Reid.
There were a myriad of strange looking people in the cavern, but they still stared at Auran as they passed. A boy with long green plaits, wearing the chunkiest black shoes Bran had seen, almost walked into a post because he couldn’t tear his eyes off the glamoured faerie. Auran didn’t seem to notice the attention he was getting.
And this is Punk Guy. Punk Guy and I had an arguement earlier that went something like this....
punk guy - I want a name
me- buzz off, I'm busy right now >.>
punk guy - how come Kyle gets a name?
me - because, he just does, such is life. Now sit quietly in the back of my head until I have time for you.
punk guy - if I make a lot of noise you'll be forced to MAKE time for me...
me - ..........-_-
He has a point....

I'm also getting a copy of Blood, Glass and Sugar to read and correct, really looking forward to that. I very much enjoyed having it read out as it was written, I can't wait to have the whole thing in my hands to read. Auran = yum. hahaha.
So it would be nice to have a break, watch some Sonic X, lazy about scratching myself, naked, no, naked from the waist down to emphasize my nakidity. But no, here I sit doing research for Perseus and trying to think of a title that isn't Perseus. >.>
I have counted up my money carefully, and I'm pretty sure I can afford a poetic license. (lmao) Obviously I will get crazy people chasing me with sticks, telling me my facts are wrong, and Dictys didn't have a son, etc etc, but hey - I run pretty fast. And Lyndz will beat them off for me.

Well I thought I would use the lull between scenes to post. >.> This will be my first post this month, see what I mean about being forgetful. Still out of all my journals this one has probably been updated the most. ^^
Um so… what’s been happening? Well I have had many headaches, due to the storm charged air, and have spent a lot more time sleeping than I care to admit. I hate being sensitive to atmosphere, it’s a pain in the ass. Also painkillers don’t really do anything for the headaches. ._. But oh well, I’ll just have to live with it lol. Maybe some day move somewhere with less storms. >.>
Umm so, I have had sushi AND chow mein this week. ^^ possibly my two favourite things to eat. Also Takeshi sent a bunch of stuff from
Here are some rather blurry pictures. How awesome are these???

Well I also have good news about WotD. It IS moving, very very slowly, but it’s moving towards the finish line. If I work hard I can still get this draft finished by my self imposed deadline of Monday night. Sadly I don’t think it will feel finished due to all the work I’m going to have to do to redraft. I already know I need to add at least another 10,000 words at the start. Damn Julian and Mollie and their need for character development. Lol.
I did finish one scene this morning and write another (though it was a short scene). This leaves two more scenes and the epilogue. :) I can do it right? RIGHT????

So that leaves a romantic scene, and back to the POV of my main female character after not seeing her for far too many scenes. (I will worry about that in the redraft dammit!!! The redraft!!!!) Then the ending, split between two POVs so I will class that as two scenes. Then the Epilgue and set up for the second novel. (the idea of which gives me nightmares.)
So that's four scenes? >.>'' Today is Monday, I want it done by next Monday. <.<'

procrastination \proh-cras-tuh-NAY-shuhn\, noun:
1. To put off doing something, especially out of habitual carelessness or laziness.
1. To postpone or delay needlessly
>.> um yeh that would be me. All of the above. Alright so I have been working on WotD. I have a bunch of words I didn't have before. I'm further into the fight between my main protagonist and my antagonist. I've also shot my favourite character in the back and am in the midst of showing that she/he can't be healed by normal magic. I'm wondering if it's too far fetched for my reason for this to be that you can't heal someone magically if it's their time to die, because of the Fates (who get to be murdered in November if I decide to go with Fateless for NaNo).
So not so much 5 scenes to go anymore... I've written part of two of them now.. so it's more like three full scenes and two halves? lol. Although it will be very tricky to force myself not to start redrafting. Irritatingly I know exactly what needs done right now. So I'll make notes and put them away with my finished manuscript. What I will do is print out a copy and give one to Lyndz and one to my Mum to see if they can get most of the mistakes, and tell me when things have gone funky. >.>
I'm posting early today to try and get my procrastination out of the way and get to writing. Hopefully before bed I will beable to return and announce I have finished AT LEAST one of the half finished scenes. I hope I'll get more done. >.>

Okay, well Lyndz and Matt and I went shopping on Saturday which was most amusing. We took a lot of photos but I'm going to leave it to Lyndz to post the photo blog, she's better that them. lol. I will just post this, because love... just love...

I am over-joyed. And yes, I'm also wearing my writing hat in Forbidden Planet. lol.
Okay I don't want to make this post too long because it's distracting me from writing. And I really need to get some writing done. Just wanted to mention (mostly as a reminder to myself) my two new story ideas.
Okay well one of them isn't really mine per say, but I am planning on writing a YA novelisation of the story of Perseus. He's my favourite of the greek heroes and I've loved him since I first learnt about him in P6. I was struck on the train to Belfast yesterday with a deep desire to tell his story. Random I know, but I think it could work. I'll update about this when I've given it more thought. (Which I promise myself will be AFTER I finish WotD AFTER DAMMIT!!!)
Second idea is set during (or rather starts with) the Great Fire of London. I know almost nothing except that the main character is a street boy who finds a salamander, and that it's the Salamander that causes the fire to start. I'm not sure what the rest of the story is going to be about, but I shall have to research London in 1666.
In other news, my eye itches. But I shall bid you fairwell. :P

So what have I been up to? Hmm ^^ well Friday night Lyndsay, Danny, Hannah and I went to the cinema to see Spiderwick for the second time. If you haven't seen the film and want to..
Spoiler Warning I have to say I enjoyed the movie, although they cut a lot out, but hey, that's what happens. The childrens acting was fantastic, especially Freddie Highmore who played Jared/Simon. It was very odd to see an american accent coming out of his mouth though, but he did it very well. Sadly the older actors bad acting skills were only highlighted by how good the children were. In particular Arthur Spiderwick, who seemed to have just escaped from acting school despite his 91 tv and film appearences listed on IMDB. The ending (after the fight with Mulgarath) made me laugh outloud. Not only did they miss the deeper meaning (Arthur choosing to let go and turn to dust) it was just pure and rather smelly cheese, while Jared, Simon and Mallory (the main characters) kind of stand about in the background. Hogsqueal was very different in the movie vs the book, but it worked well so I won't complain about that. The only thing that really annoyed me was the changes to Tony DeTerlizzi's creature designs. I think they really should have left them as they appear in his original artwork. They wouldn't have messed with something created by Brian Froud, so why redesign Tony's work? Mulgarath in particular, to me at least, didn't look right. He wasn't big or scary enough. (I also though his voice sucked, he sounded more like a cab driver than an ogre half the time). While looking up pictures today I also saw (as I should have guessed) that they have re-released the book with images from the film on the front. This isn't anything particularly shocking as they generally always do this, however in this case it pisses me off because the original cover art was drawn by the co-creator and his artwork is just as important to the story as Holly's writing. Still I guess if Tony and Holly get paid it doesn't really matter in the end. They deserve the fame. End Spoilers
After the movie we had chinese, introduced Hannah to Isis and took amusing pictures of ourselves on Lyndsay's Mac. Like this one....
Scary ne?Then we went and met Hannah's cat, which was incredibly cute. :)
Yesterday I got up and went to help my mum with the flat and also finally brought my bearded dragon Yohji home. He's such a cutie, I missed him very much and its really funny watching Isis and him interact, as can be seen here.
After that Matt came over and the three of us had had a writer's party. I managed to get the battle between Malik and Julian started at least, but its extremely hard. :( I'm really not very good at writing battle scenes, and magical battle scenes... gah de gah. >_< stupid mages!!! stupid angels!!! stupid stupid stupid! -_-
I also had the disturbing experience of seeing the pilot of the American remake of Red Dwarf. WTF? The only thing I can say is... why? o.O''' Why do something like that? Did we remake Friends or Cheers with British actors? No. Why not? Because it's stupid. I hope the remake of Spaced is never made... I really do.. I still don't understand how they can remake a show without the consent of the creators. It shouldn't be allowed, and Simon Pegg and Co should beable to sue. >_<

So yesterday I spent many many hours working on a character design drawing of my protagonist for the project I'm collabing with Greg and Lyndz on (it only took us... what six years to start working on it? XD). Then I decided that the eyes on the picture terrified me. XD
Nothing else of extreme interest happened yesterday. Lyndz went to stay at home and I went to bed 'early' after freaking the hell out of myself. I often do this, I'm very easy to freak out, since I have a scarily overactive imagination. I also think of the worst possible things (thinking nice stuff when im freaked out NEVER works, I think of monsters). I'm 25 years old and when I'm alone in the house I still sleep with the hall light on. Lmao. You'd think I'd be embarrased to admit this. ^^
I go to put the chain on the door, and find myself staring at the gap between the blinds that cover the window and the thin strip of outside darkness and think 'God... wouldn't it be scary if there was something on the other side of the door, staring in at my through that gap?' In that thought I also got an image, of something with yellow eyes and saliva dripping from fangs and dark corse fur and claws that shone black in the moonlight. Werebear?? O_O!!! *heart starts pounding, runs like fuck up the stairs to snuggle the kitty cat*
I swear to god, I think I have been scared of someONE breaking into the house one time in my whole life. I spend the rest of the time worrying about the 'things'. I remember once when I was around 9 or 10 asking my dad if grownups stopped being scared of things that weren't real. He thought for a long moment, then he told me that grownups still got scared, they just knew better so it wasn't so bad. He was right about that. lol.
This morning I slept in. >_< I woke up at 9am holding my alarm in my hand several inches from my face. It was blaring out Chop Suey by System of a Down at an incredible volume. Somehow I had been sleeping through it since it initally went off at 7am. -_- How I'm really not sure, except I do remember there being a radio playing in my dream. lmao.
I managed to get a lift into work from Dad arriving an hour late, and Sandra (the teacher I'm assistant to) just laughed at me and said 'well you must have needed the rest, go get a cup of coffee.' I'm so glad I have an understanding boss. lmao.
There was more I had to tell.. but I forget what it was, so I shall shoot along and have some coffee, then test of my Sonic X dvds that arrived this morning. XD Yay!!! Sonic (the japanese verison, not the stupid dub with all the blood and swearing cut out) rocks!!! XD

Also cool noteworthy news is I recently posted on the journal of a published author who's work I admired, and not only did he reply but he wished me good luck with my own writing. Which was very sweet. Great writer AND a cool person. XD I feel slightly star-struck. lol.

Today I am feeling determined with regards to my writing. DETERMINED I say. I will finish the second chapter of Crimsin, its dragging tooooooooo long.
Of course I am writing everything long hand in a note book, but that's because I can never focus to write (other than things like blogs and RP posts) on my laptop. I have no idea why. But when it comes to novel writing I'm a PC sort of girl. I suspect its got something to do with the screen and the keyboard. Whispers of the Dark (solo)
Victorian YA Horror Fantasy
Nope, still not finished. In good news though I read through (skimmed more like) most of it, and I have to see I liked what I was reading. I love my characters, and some parts really made me giggle. I doubt they'll make anyone else giggle >.> I have a very odd sense of humour, but no matter. My dialogue is actually good o.O which amazes me, I seem to have gotten better, though working on Crimsin now I'm not seeing this skill continue... but whatever. I am still five scenes from the ending -_- but I want to finish it, so I will, just not right now. Maybe between Crimsin somewhere.
Crimsin (Co-written with Lyndz)
YA Fantasy
:) My one true love. ^_^ She's finally been restarted and she's looking great. I'm very excited. Of course starting is never easy and I'm more interested in the things that happen later. lol. I'm loving the relationship between the brothers Briar and Thorn in my chapter so far, and Lyndz's writing is an otherworldly dream you don't want to wake up from. Flawless as always. Well maybe not flawless lol, first drafts never are, beautiful is probably more what I'm looking for. I adore Crimsin (the character) I do. It's not odd for me to have great affection for my protagonists of course (I generally have great affection for everyone involved even when they don't deserve it.) but Crimsin has a special place in my heart. I think she always will have. I want to hug her <3 though I doubt she'd let me. lol. Also things seem to make more sense this time around, but I guess it would considering how long we've been working on this. lol. The plot is looking in better shape, vague as it is at this point. There looks to be two sequels on the horizon. AT LEAST. lol. One being Kaylas and the other.... urban SCI FI Fantasy? Muhaahaah! ^^ I will say nothing else.
LORE (Co-written with Lyndz)
YA Urban Fantasy
For some reason that title always looks better in capitals. lol. Anyway. My poor neglected darling. This project got quite far along before it took a back seat to NaNo lol. But we'd burned out before that so it wasn't really NaNo's fault. Well when Lyndz and I read it over recently we discovered its good. :) The plot was just wrong, but we're working towards fixing that. in Lyndsay's words 'wow all the characters are great.' Fantastic, best possible thing we could have discovered. :) If the characters are good enough any novel can be saved ^^
Other projects on the burner...
Shattered Illusions (to be Co-Written with my brother Dark)
YA/Teenage Fantasy
I don't have my notes on it here as they are at Dads. But I'll say our ideas are good and fun. The story will probably be a total giggle fest, since Dark is one of the most amusing people I know. ^^
Fateless (Solo)
My project for next NaNo. Inspired by a poem Lyndsay wrote, which I would quote if I wasn't worried I'd mess it up. 'Fateless we wander under black sky/Fateless forever never goodbye.' It's working on the vague idea of someone killing the Fates, so no one can die. >.>' okay that sounds odd. But oh well. lol.
In other news, I had a very very odd dream..
In it Lyndsay and I lived in a mansion, and I was being stalked... by Billy Zain (may have mispelt his name, but Cal from Titanic). I had to put a restraining order on him... however!!!!! Crafty Billy could turn himself into a black cat. Yes you heard me. So Lyndsay left me alone in the house and he tried to break in!!!!!111 In cat form. This sounds beyond stupid but I was terrfied lmao. Turned out Lyndsay was dating the bugger and he HAD A KEY!!! Lol. So I had locked myself in the living room was was trying to call the police but I kept pressing 99*9 instead of 999 and also dropping the phone. At which point Billy burst through the door and I was woken by the noise, which was actually the post man delivering letters for the people who used to live here. Lmao. So if anyone can offfer a meaning for this dream I'd love to hear it.
Well I need more coffee as my cup is now full of nothing. lol.
